Looking at the title, you may think that it is not related to home appliances, but I will talk about rice cookers. It is a story of eating sweet potatoes cooked in a rice cooker and losing 5 kg.

I love white rice, and if I don't have to worry about anything, I can eat 3 cups of white rice every meal, but as I get older, my metabolism deteriorates and I'm not exercising properly because I'm sitting down. .. Even with one cup of white rice every meal, the weight tended to increase slightly.

After giving birth, I couldn't get back to my original weight, so I decided to go on a diet. The reason for sweet potatoes is that I saw Korean idols eating sweet potatoes when they were on a diet. I like sweet potatoes as much as white rice, so when I tried it, it was quite effective.

Weight transition for about one year. The weight that was 56kg in January became 51kg in July. It is 5kg less in half a year.From this point on, I can't lose weight even with the same diet, and now I'm careful not to gain weight.

About 150g of white rice for a bowl is 252kcal, and 150g of sweet potato is 198kcal. If you eat the same amount, sweet potatoes have lower calories. There are various other reasons why sweet potatoes are suitable for dieting, such as a gradual rise in blood glucose level after meals and abundant nutrition, but I am not familiar with them so I will omit the explanation here.

Of course, instead of eating only sweet potatoes, I tried to eat a lot of vegetables and side dishes with low-fat and high-protein foods (chicken breast, lean beef, etc.). Octopus, which is famous as a low-fat, high-protein god food, was also very active, and in the summer, we often made octopus and wakame seaweed vinegared foods.

Every time I eat this meal, I get stressed, so I eat what I like and drink alcohol. Strict adherence was to make sweet potatoes the staple food once a day.

When I was eating sweet potatoes, I was wondering how to cook them. When I looked it up, there was a way to use a microwave oven or toaster, but all of them are a little troublesome. The easiest way to do this was to use a rice cooker.

Put the sweet potatoes with skin and enough water to cover the inner pot.

First, put the washed sweet potatoes in the inner pot with the skin on. The amount is appropriate. After adding enough water to cover the sweet potatoes, all you have to do is press the "cook rice" button. I wondered if this was really good, but after 40 minutes of driving, the sweet potatoes were quite moist and fluffy.

In the microwave, it was often dry, but in the rice cooker, any kind of sweet potato was deliciously finished. Personally, I liked "Harukahime" because it was moderately sticky.

My family uses an IH rice cooker, but once I cook it with the pressure IH rice cooker in my sister's house, it may become too soft. In the case of pressure IH, it may be necessary to make fine adjustments such as "quick cooking".

Diet rice doesn't last unless it's delicious, but the sweet potatoes cooked in the rice cooker had a nice texture and sweetness, so they were very delicious. It was easy to continue because it was just washed and the switch was pressed, so there was no hassle.

After cooking. It takes 40 minutes in standard mode, but it's easy because you can leave it alone. There is no dry feeling.As for the variety, "Harukahime" was moderately sticky and I liked it.

When the staple food was white rice, I sometimes inadvertently replaced the rice with side dishes that go well with rice, such as grilled fish and pork kimchi. Sweet potatoes are delicious on their own, but it's not a good ingredient for side dishes, so it was good to prevent overeating.

The amount of 150g was about one small sweet potato, but I am quite satisfied. Also, I always wanted sweets after meals, but since sweet potatoes are sweet, it was a big merit that I could use it as a dessert and suppress unnecessary snacks.

To be honest, it was hard to eat sweet potatoes every meal, so even one out of three meals was effective for me.

By the way, depending on the rice cooker, there are models that are not allowed to be used for purposes other than rice cooking (most of them are high-end models), so it seems better to read the instruction manual and check in advance when cooking.
