Voice actor Haruka Yamazaki learns how to move ――What is the packing method for anime / game goods such as figures and posters and kitchen utensils?
It's already mid January. I think there are many people who are preparing to move for a new life from spring, such as going on to school or getting a job. There are many things to think about when moving, such as choosing a room and making an estimate, but packing work is especially troublesome for people with a lot of luggage.
There is also one person here who is having trouble with such packing work. Haruka Yamazaki, a voice actor who has been moving many times, is also an "otaku" who admits to himself and others. Mr. Yamazaki's hobby is collecting figures and other anime, games, and Disney goods, and since she appears in various events as a voice actor, she also has a lot of her costumes. When he moved in the spring of 2016, he searched for a house with a large floor plan because it had a lot of storage space, but he said he had various worries and doubts about the packaging he did at that time.

"Mirai Kasuga," Hayate the Combat Butler! So, this time, I asked Mr. Haruka Nishijima of "Art Moving Center" who is a moving professional the question that Mr. Yamazaki had, and asked her to solve her worries unique to women and otaku.
――Mr. Yamazaki has a hobby that tends to carry a lot of luggage, such as watching anime and collecting Disney goods.
Yamazaki That's right! I'm the type who collects as many goods as I like, so I think I tend to carry a lot of luggage (laughs). When I was a high school student, I collect things that can be used at school, such as pencil cases and pens, and now I want to have them in my room. Poster, cushion, sheets, etc. We are organizing it, but the number of goods is increasing.
――I see (laughs). Isn't it difficult to pack when moving because there is a lot of luggage?
Yamazaki: It's really hard! The last time I moved, I had a lot of trouble. I often have troubles and worries because I don't know how to pack it ... Even after I've moved, I'm still sick.
――This time, I asked Mr. Haruka Nishijima of the Art Moving Center to come to me, hoping to eliminate Mr. Yamazaki's sickness!
Nishijima Thank you.
Yamazaki Wow! Thank you!
――Let's take this opportunity to ask "moving" professionals in various ways!
On the right is Mr. Nishijima from the Art Moving Center. Mr. Yamazaki seems to have a lot of questions and worries about moving ... Let's solve it at this opportunity! |
Yamazaki Yes! May I ask you one immediately?
Nishijima Please ask me anything.
Yamazaki Thank you! Um ... I have a lot of posters on my house, how do I pack them? I don't want to put them in the cardboard box as they are, and I don't want to fold or bend them. I'm always in trouble when I move.
――I heard that Mr. Yamazaki recently moved in the spring of 2016. How was it packed at that time?
Yamazaki: For the time being, I rolled them all up and left it to the vendor. The trader carried it without saying anything, but I didn't know if it was correct ... I would like to know if there is a way to prevent it from breaking or wrinkling when packing by myself.
Nishijima: There are many customers who consult with us if they don't know how to pack posters and calendars. The method that I always advise such customers is packing using two cardboard boxes and an air cap (cushioning material).
We will prepare two cardboard boxes and an air cap. |
Yamazaki I'm curious! How do you do it?
Nishijima First, cut the cardboard into two posters and put the poster between them. All you have to do is wrap it with an air cap. This way, it won't wrinkle when rolled, and it will be easier to carry.
Yamazaki: I see, there was such a method.
――By the way, at the Art Moving Center, can you pack posters if you ask?
Nishijima If you have a request, we will respond here as well. I will only give advice to customers who want to do it themselves.
The official website of "Art Moving Center" introduces various information useful for moving. |
――If you ask in advance, you can do it! It is a service that helps busy people. I think Mr. Yamazaki collects various goods other than posters, but were there any other goods that were difficult to pack?
Yamazaki Figure! I'm always having trouble packing figures. It's nice to have a box, but I don't know what to do with the ones that are displayed out of the box ...
――How was it packed last time?
Yamazaki: If there are parts that can be removed, I removed them and wrapped them in bubble wrap so that they would not break. I don't want to break it, so I fixed it tightly!
Figure packing
The packing method that Mr. Yamazaki always uses
The figure used this time is "Idol Master Million Live! "Kasuga Mirai-Million Spark!-" |

Place the figure on the air cap ... | One rotation around! From there, fix with curing tape |
It's done! |
――I see, I feel the “love” that I never want to break. Mr. Nishijima, is this packing method actually correct?
Is the judgment you care about ○? ……?
This is close to ○ △! |
Nishijima: It's a pity! For figures without boxes, the parts may come off or break, so it's actually better not to wrap them too much with bubble wrap or paper. If you wind it too much, you will not be able to see the contents, which is dangerous.
Yamazaki That's right! Until now, I was really worried, so I just wrapped it around ...
Nishijima Also, for large figures, there is a packing method that uses two cardboard boxes.
Two Yamazaki?
Nishijima Yes. I cut the flap at the closing part of the cardboard to make a break. Put the figure there and cover it with the cardboard that has the flap cut. This will fix the figure and make it less likely to be damaged.
Yamazaki: That sounds difficult. I can't do it myself ...
Nishijima It's pretty easy, so it's okay.
--Mr. Yamazaki, let's actually do it!
If you wrap it around with masking tape, it may get caught when you peel it off and break, so it is better not to wrap it.Especially if you stretch your arms like this figure, it is easy to break and dangerous. |
First of all, Mr. Nishijima practices how to pack figures
First of all, the practice of the method of making a break in the cardboard using the flap of the cardboard that I mentioned earlier.Cut the left and right flaps with a cutter, make a cut in the middle of one flap and align it with the cross. |
Fit the cross-shaped flap tightly on the cardboard and put the figure in the break. Then cover it with another cardboard box and cover it with a lid to complete it! |
Mr. Yamazaki also challenges
First of all, I will make the cardboard break that I mentioned earlier. |
Align the flap with the cross ... and it's done! |
Insert the break you made into the cardboard. Then put the wrapped figure in a cardboard box so that you can see what it is wrapped in. |
Finally, if you cover it with another cardboard box from above ... |
done! |
――You're done! Now you don't have to worry about packing the figures.
Yamazaki Yes! Another problem with the goods I collect is "books". If you pack a lot of manga or thin books in a big box, the bottom will come off, so I wonder how much you can put in. When I was a high school student, I had a part-time job moving during the Golden Week holidays such as summer vacation, but even then I was not good at carrying cardboard boxes full of books (laughs). So I wonder if it's better not to make the cardboard too heavy.
Nishijima You're right. People who have a lot of books tend to pack them in large cardboard boxes, but if you put too much in them, the bottom will come off, and if they are heavy, you may have trouble unpacking. Also, if you pack books of different sizes into a large cardboard box, the contents of the box will become squishy and the books will shake and collapse when you move them. Therefore, we recommend that you pack a lot of books in a small cardboard box.
Putting a book in a large cardboard box makes it very heavy and immobile.Even if the number of cardboard boxes increases, it is safer to put them in a small box. |
Yamazaki That's right ... I packed half the books and half the cushions and dolls. I thought I had to keep the books in place.
Nishijima That's the correct answer!
Yamazaki did it!
――On the contrary, is there anything wrong with this combination?
Nishijima: It's still water-based, isn't it? Sometimes the liquid may leak.
