Can you avoid the heat of the kitchen in the middle of summer?

I decided to borrow this unit because I thought it would be nice to have an item to cool off in the kitchen. For example, in the summer, if you use two stoves at the same time to make pasta, your kitchen will heat up like a sauna. After sweating and cooking, can I really eat hot pasta ...? Isn't it already exhausted and deprived of physical strength and energy for the day ...? and. That said, I can't put a dedicated air conditioner in the kitchen, and I don't have a place to put a fan... so how about a light with a fan that can be connected to a lighting plug!?

So, this time, I borrowed a model that attaches to the place where the ceiling light was originally installed (hanging ceiling rosette). In addition, there is also the "E26 model DSLS10MC" (actual price 11,880 yen, tax included) that has the same function and can be connected to a light bulb socket (E26 base socket).

Brighter than expected, no dissatisfaction with the lighting function

By the way, looking at the images of this unit, it seems that it is intended for use in somewhat narrow spaces such as kitchens, washrooms, and entrances. is not it. Since my house is a small apartment where I live alone, the place where I installed it also serves as the kitchen, the entrance (corridor), and the washroom.

The brightness of the normal ceiling light is 4000 lm (lumen), but this unit is about 1520 lm. As you can see from the numbers, the amount of light is certainly less than the previous ceiling light, but my impression is that it is brighter than I expected. It doesn't feel dark when working in the kitchen, and although it's a small space, there's no darkness anywhere. As evidence of this, even two months after installation, the foliage plants next to the entrance are still growing vigorously.

The dimming function is sufficient with 5 levels. On the other hand, the toning function had three levels, and the color of the light was clearly separated for each. The image of "blue white (daylight color)" → "white (daylight white)" → "orange (light bulb color)" cannot express subtle colors in between. Personally, I felt that the incandescent color (orange) was a little unnatural, so I didn't use it. The function as a light was brighter than I expected, so I have no complaints overall.

The wind from the fan is straight and convenient for supporting ventilation

Next, let's talk about the fan. The wind that comes in has the impression that it moves in a straight line without spreading. If you set the air volume to the strongest 5, you can feel a certain amount of strong wind pressure, partly because my house has a low ceiling.

The driving sound is wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow, but there's no vibration or high wind noise, so it doesn't give an unpleasant impression. By the way, this unit has the function of reversing the direction of the wind (blowing the wind toward the ceiling), and it also has the effect of moving the warm air that accumulates upwards to efficiently warm the room.

On the other hand, the connection between the fan and the support column can be rotated horizontally, and there is a hinge with exquisite hardness, so you can adjust the fan to the desired angle and fix it.

It is still convenient to be able to adjust the angle. I believe that stagnation in the air makes me feel stagnation, so when I wake up in the morning, I open all the windows and run all the fans in the house on high to ventilate the room. This machine is perfect for this ventilation support. Bending the neck toward the living room and turning the fan at maximum airflow clearly accelerates the ventilation. There was no item that could blow air horizontally from near the ceiling so far, so being able to change the surrounding air at once is valuable. If you go for a walk for about 20 minutes in this state, the room will be filled with fresh air when you come back. Thanks to you, I was able to have a pleasant morning every day.

Be careful when using the stove in a small space

It feels good to stand under the fan after taking a bath. It is also comfortable to cool from the back of the head when washing dishes or taking care of foliage plants in the water. This is a big plus, as kitchens usually don't have air conditioners.

Then, what about the all-important cooking...? When I adjusted it so that the air from the fan hit my back while actually using the fire, I found that the hot air that had accumulated near the ceiling due to the heat from the stove hit my back directly. While feeling the heat of the fire from the front, it is an extremely hot situation where you are bathed in hot air from above. It has become like a perpetual motion machine that continues to absorb heat. It's fine if the ceiling is high enough, but if the ceiling is low like my house and there is no place for the heat to escape, you need to be careful. Also, if wind enters the stove flame, the heat will become unstable, so you need to be careful about that as well.

So, instead of using the stove as a fan, I decided to turn it in a different direction and use it as a tool to dissipate heat. I tried pointing the neck of this unit toward the ventilation fan on the entrance side instead of my body. Then... Oh, this is definitely easier! I had the impression that the hot air that had filled my head escaped at once, and the area around my upper body felt cool and comfortable. In other words, in a small space like my house, it would be better to use it as if creating a route for heat to escape, rather than cooling the body with this machine. Similarly, it seems that odors can be quickly discharged with a fan.

By the way, if I had to cite a disappointing point about this unit, it would be that the remote control is difficult to respond to if it is a little far away, probably because the light receiving part of the remote control is facing downward. It was a little inconvenient when operating from a distance for ventilation purposes.

As a conclusion after using this machine for 2 months, I thought it would be ant to buy it out of my own pocket. It is good to blow air directly on the body, but the biggest attraction is that it promotes ventilation and exhaust heat by creating a path for air with a straight wind. It is ideal for entrances and kitchens where odors and heat tend to build up, and in the cold season, you can expect it to be effective in sending warm air accumulated in the sky to the entire room. Overall, I felt that it is a good product that improves QOL (Quality of life). In terms of the amount of light, a ceiling light is good, but I can recommend this unit without hesitation when using it in a place that is not so large or when there is a separate main lighting and you don't need that much brightness.
