[From the Ministry of Health] Measures to prevent outbreaks in the third semester | Shimane Prefectural Yakami High School

To prevent outbreaks of new coronavirus infections (3rd semester)

In schools, many students and faculty members spend a lot of time on a daily basis with places and activities. As a result, outbreaks are likely to occur, so it is important to be fully prepared for the outbreak and spread of infectious diseases. Due to the rapid spread of the new coronavirus infection, not only in Japan but also in Shimane Prefecture, "priority measures such as prevention of spread" have been applied. (January 27-February 20)

Looking at the infection situation in Japan and overseas, long-term response is expected to continue. It is necessary to continue school life while reducing the risk of infection and its spread in school as much as possible. It is important for each person to raise their awareness of infectious disease prevention so that they can continue classes and club activities.

Since January, the infection has spread rapidly nationwide, the number of domestic infections (adults → children) has increased, and the spread of infections at schools has continued. Therefore, in this prefecture as well, measures were taken to close the school to areas where the infection has spread rapidly.

From February 1st, when the school is closed, it is necessary to take thorough measures against infectious diseases. The policy of the national and prefectural boards of education and the contents of guidance and advice from the school internist, Dr. Mikami, are summarized below. Let's try to prevent infectious diseases surely and politely so that not only "I will not infect" but also "I will not infect the surroundings".

The latest information on new coronavirus infections

The rapid replacement of Delta strains with new mutant strains (Omicron strains) has caused a rapid spread of infection, and domestic infections (adults → children) are spreading. * It is necessary to thoroughly observe health and prevent standard infectious diseases in the dormitory and school life.

About Omicron strain (from Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare) 1. Infectivity (compared to conventional strain) may be high 2. Severity (compared to conventional strain) is unknown without sufficient epidemiological information 3. Reinfection and Regarding the vaccine effect (compared to the conventional strain), there is a possibility that the risk of reinfection may increase and the effect of the vaccine may be weakened.

Correspondence at school

In response to the infectious disease situation equivalent to the prefecture's response "level 2" (level where caution should be strengthened), we will thoroughly implement infectious disease countermeasures based on the guideline content corresponding to level 2. The basic preventive measures for infectious diseases are as follows, even for Omicron strains.

1. Thorough avoidance ventilation of "3 dense": Open diagonal windows in two directions and always ventilate * CO2 concentration 1000ppm or less is desirable, 1500ppm ↑ requires ventilation

2. Wearing a mask Wear a non-woven mask * Meals: Positive, eat silently, do not share tableware or swirl

3. Securing a distance between people Keep a distance of 2m (minimum 1m) as much as possible and do not sit face-to-face.

4. Hand hygiene such as hand washing Basically, hand washing (foaming soap + running water for 20 seconds) * Hand disinfection should be used for dry hands

Do everything you can (mask, ventilation, hand washing, secure distance), carefully and surely! !! This reduces the risk of spreading the disease. Let's raise awareness of each and every one of Yagami High School as a whole!

From Dr. Masanobu Mikami, a school internist

Key points for preventing infectious diseases of the new coronavirus (Omicron strain)

1. Wear masks for all schools (faculty staff / students) Dormitory students should spend their dormitory life wearing masks * Non-woven mask recommended

2. Thorough ventilation

Always open the windows diagonally between the corridor side and the window side as much as possible (10 to 20 cm) Prevention of droplet infection: Droplets equivalent to one cough in a 5-minute conversation, and suppression of aerosol inhalation contact Infection prevention: Deterrence of touching one's eyes, nose, and mouth

3. Thorough health observation (temperature measurement before going to school)

Those who are in poor physical condition such as fever and wind symptoms should not go to school (students / faculty / staff)

4. Avoid three dense (sealed, close, dense)

Do not shout or sing loudly at close range without a mask 5. Hand hygiene such as hand washing

Thorough hand washing: Carefully wash with lathered soap for at least 20 seconds 6. Thorough classroom cleaning

Careful daily cleaning (wiping) + alcohol disinfection * Improves the preventive effect of contact infection

Eliminating the source of infection

It is a major premise that the students who come to school are in good health

Those who are in poor physical condition do not go to school

Those who fall under the following conditions should take a thorough rest at home 1. At the time of temperature measurement before going to school: Those who have a fever * 3 7.0 ℃ or higher, body temperature 1 ℃ or higher higher than normal fever 2. Person 3. When the symptom of 1.2 is seen in the family living together

In case of cold symptoms ・ Headache, sore throat, runny nose, cough symptoms, taste abnormalities, olfactory abnormalities, dullness, etc. Take a rest at home until you run out of symptoms, have a medical examination as soon as possible, and inform the school of the results. If you have performed an antigen-antibody test, or if you have a telephone consultation with the "Health Counseling Center" of the public health center, please contact the school. * Please call the school before the test.

Thorough observation of health in the morning [Home] Before going to school: Check temperature and physical condition of students / family living together ⇒ Online input * Students with poor physical condition, fever and cold symptoms (including family members living together) should not go to school

[Dormitory] Every morning / evening: Temperature measurement and confirmation of cold symptoms * If multiple people are in poor physical condition, rest in the dormitory.

[School] ・ Thorough health observation during the morning assembly: Check online input status, give instructions to non-input persons Take a rest at home ・ Minimize the response in the health room, and isolate the fever in a separate room (second health room) ⇨ To prevent clusters in the health room

Breaking the transmission route

Prevention of droplet infection (aerosol infection) and contact infection

Thorough hand washing

Carefully wash with lathered soap for at least 20 seconds. Timing of hand washing

・ When entering the classroom from the outside ・ After the toilet ・ Before and after lunch ・ When coughing, sneezing, blowing your nose ・ After cleaning ・ When touching a shared object * Dry hands when going to school or if there is no hand washing place nearby Carefully rub the hand sanitizer into the toilet

Response to the risk of outbreaks

Points to note in learning situations

Thoroughly avoid places where the following three conditions (three dense) overlap at the same time (national / prefectural basic policy) 1. Do not create a closed space with poor ventilation ・ Avoid places and meetings with poor ventilation as much as possible ・ Changing rooms And the club room are used with a time lag while ventilating.

2. Many people do not gather within reach ・ Keep a distance between people ※ 2m (minimum 1m) as much as possible ・ Group ・ Sufficient consideration for activities at short distances Example) Pair work, group work, etc. Carefully consider and implement learning activities with a high risk of infection

3. Do not engage in activities that involve short-distance conversations or loud vocalizations ・ Consideration for classes in the classroom * In principle, sharing of equipment is prohibited ⇒ If sharing of equipment is required, wash your hands or disinfect your hands with alcohol before and after use. This

Flow of correspondence in school life

1. 1.Going to school

・ Before going to school: Health observation at home * Online input ・ Wearing a mask (students / faculty / staff) * Non-woven mask recommended ・ When going to school: Encourage hand washing In such cases, the teacher will call the home and check the situation of the students.Morning health observation

・ Implemented by: SHR teacher / teacher confirms the appearance (complexion / facial expression) of all students and fills in the health observation book. Or, leave the symptomatic person early ⇒ Go to the health room (second health room) 3.During class

・ Open a space between seats (minimum 1m) ・ Do not share teaching materials or lend or borrow things (when sharing, disinfect hands and fingers before and after use) ・ Face-to-face, ingenuity to avoid close proximity Example) Be careful about pair work, group work, etc.・ Consider the room temperature at all times: Open two places (corridor side and window side) to ventilate (10 to 20 cm) ・ If continuous ventilation is difficult At the end of class: The person in charge of the lesson will use the window / entrance Open the door and leave the classroom At the beginning of the lesson: The person in charge of the lesson closes the window / entrance door and starts the lesson.
