Focus on wholesale tableware removal

Fukui Craft (Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture) released the "Shelmin" series, which is called "next generation biomass tableware" and uses egg shells, in October. Eggshell and pulp accounted for 57-61% of the main components, and the use of thermosetting resin was reduced to less than half. Most of them are still made of plastic, but we are also focusing on deplasticization due to the seriousness of marine pollution. So far, we have planned and sold chopsticks made from cellulose acetate and cotton, and dishes made by mixing rice husks to reduce plastic. Shelmin development began in earnest last winter. The reason for focusing on eggshells was explained by Daisuke Nishikori (29), the project leader of the Tokyo branch office, saying, "Eggshells are so-called lumps of carbon dioxide (CO2). Greenhouse gases are released. We use them as materials and reduce the amount of plastic, which is doubly friendly to the earth. " Increasing the content of eggshell makes coloring difficult. Trial and error with the Nagano factory of Yamato Kako (Tokyo), which was in charge of molding, and the craftsmen of Takano Kogei (Sabae City), who was in charge of painting. By changing the distribution of raw materials in small steps and devising pretreatment, we arrived at the optimum combination. It has a heat-resistant temperature of 200 degrees and can be used in a microwave oven or dishwasher. He made his "debut" at the largest exhibition and business meeting in Japan related to the food service industry held at Tokyo Big Sight in October. He said he liked it, saying, "Is it possible to put the'biomass product'logo?" The target is wide-ranging, including foreign-affiliated hotels, hospitals and schools, and the sales target for the first year by the end of August next year is 10 million yen or more. As a biomass product, we have also obtained certification from the Japan Organic Resources Association. It was May that I registered as a "Fukui SDGs Partner" in Fukui Prefecture.
